A NEW MUSICAL
CREATIVE TEAM

Dr Cynthia Davis
PhD, MSc, BEd, ATCL, LTCL.
Cynthia is the Artistic Director of Glorylight Productions. "Abolition" is her first musical. She has been a practising Clinical Psychologist in her professional life, a specialist in treating complex trauma. She trained extensively in performing arts in her younger years and set her creative and dramatic talents aside to pursue academia and clinical practice. She now works full-time in writing musicals and in music theatre production.
After spending many years researching 18th century Europe, Cynthia was inspired to tell, in music theatre form, the gripping story of a small group of tenacious freedom fighters who reshaped the social, political and economic landscape of a nation and set the stage for global human rights reform. She believes that this type of heroism is surely needed today.
Cynthia further believes that music theatre has the potential to drive conversations about complex human interactions, and about social, political and ethical structures that shape our lives in the modern culture. It is her passion to see in music theatre a convergence of entertainment, artistic excellence and education to fulfill ALL the needs of theatre-goers including entertainment, intellectual stimulation, insight, ethical and moral discovery, and the changing and developing of mindsets.
Cynthia wrote the book, the music and the lyrics for "Abolition" and she collaborates with a team of immensely talented creatives in its ongoing development. She has also completed a second musical, an epic story about the great controversy between good and evil which is currently being devleloped.
